Construction Safety Week 2019

Working with Hazardous Substances

Construction Safety Week 2019 comes to a close with the theme ‘Working with Hazardous Substances’. Our Safety Manager Thomas Hetherington gave a toolbox talk to our production team on Chemical Safety using the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).

This was an ideal opportunity to ensure that all employees understood how to identify the hazards associated with chemicals they may encounter in their workplace. The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals is an internationally agreed-upon standard managed by the United Nations that was set up to replace the assortment of hazardous material classification and labelling schemes previously used around the world.
